Explore Points East Coastal Drive

The Points East Coastal Drive has more than 50 phenomenal beaches and boasts the warmest waters north of the Carolinas. Known for it’s fresh seafood and laid back atmosphere, there is so much to do within a 5 to 30 minute drive from Howe Bay.

 

Eat

World-renowned FireWorks Feast at Michael Smith’s The Inn at Bay Fortune.

The Fiddling Fisherman Lookout, The Lobster Shack, and The Poke Shack are all worth checking out in nearby Souris. You can buy freshly caught fish and Colville Bay oysters to eat at home from The Lobster Shack. Toby’s Food Truck on the way to Souris has exceptional burgers and fish n chips.

The Wheelhouse in Georgetown - charming seafood restaurant. Visit the harbour, local beaches, and the playhouse.

Point Prim Chowder House - picnic style fresh seafood to enjoy while the sun sets.

Beaches

Visit the singing sands at Basin Head Provincial Park, wander through interpretive trails at Sally’s Beach, take the kids to play on the playground at Red Point Provincial Park. A special mention goes to Greenwich National Park (25mins drive) with a floating boardwalk and protected sand dunes.

PEI is a golfer’s paradise with more than 25 amazing courses across the Island. The Links At Crowbush Cove, Dundarave Golf Course, and Brudenell River Golf Course are all located along the Points East Coastal Drive (https://peisfinestgolf.com/).

Other activities to check out are deep sea fishing, fly fishing, kayaking, horseback riding, and nature trails for hiking.

Just a 25min drive away, Mysa Nordic Spa in St Peters Bay is worth a visit. Take a cold plunge, relax in a robe while gazing out at the bay, have a leisurely lunch or afternoon snack at their restaurant.
